Our client is hiring a detail-oriented and proactive HR Administrator to support the day-to-day human resources functions of a compassionate, community-focused non-profit. This 2-month contract role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a collaborative setting and has 1–2 years of administrative HR experience and has intermediate or advanced efficiency in French. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) based onsite in Ottawa, with some flexibility to work from home.
Responsibilities:
- Enter and update employee information in the ADP HRIS system
- Process benefits changes (terminations, enrollments, salary and premium updates)
- Prepare employment letters, immigration letters, and other documentation
- Maintain up-to-date employee records and ensure data integrity
- Manage confidential information with discretion
- Coordinate interviews, reference checks, and pre-screening
- Organize and schedule candidate interviews (no participation in interviews)
- Assist with labour relations tasks
- Track mandatory staff training and certifications (e.g., CPR, CPI)
- Monitor expiry dates and send reminders
- Register employees for training and coordinate logistics
Qualifications:
- Education in Human Resources and/ or equivalent experience
- 1–2 years minimum of experience in HR administration
- Strong understanding of HRIS systems (ADP experience preferred)
- Knowledge of computer software Microsoft Office such as: Excel, Word, Power point, etc.
- Experience supporting recruitment, benefit, and training coordination
- Fluency in English and Intermediate communication skills in both spoken and written French
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good administrative skills, organized and demonstrates time management skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check
