Our client, a leading player in the CPG industry, is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team on a 6 month contract with the strong possibility for conversion to a permanent position. This role is 5 days in office in Brampton.
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will support financial performance reporting, variance analysis, and continuous process improvement. You'll play a key role in ensuring accuracy and integrity in reporting, while collaborating with key business partners to inform strategic decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Maintain accurate financial and accounting records
- Prepare month-end close reports and contribute to value-add financial projects
- Conduct in-depth variance analysis across expenses, labor, cost of goods sold, and margin
- Perform bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and month end adjustments for these financial statement areas
- Recommend actions based on financial trends and cost drivers
- Evaluate and enhance internal controls to ensure the integrity of reporting
- Continuously improve the efficiency and relevance of financial reporting
- Assist with external audits by preparing detailed working papers
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed in a dynamic team environment
Qualifications:
- In-progress or near completion of CPA designation
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, and reporting—preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/operational ERP systems
- Manage multiple priorities with ease and strong organizational skills
