Role: Finance & Business Analyst (Legal industry)
Duration: 12-Month Contract with possible extension
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid: In office 3-days a week)
Pay rates: $60-75/HR
Work Hours: Mon – Fri (35 work hours per week, or 7 per day)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Business Analyst for a 12-month contract to support one of our key clients in the legal industry. The ideal candidate is a curious and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and experience in a professional services setting.
This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to assess business needs, analyze data, and drive meaningful process improvements. Flexibility in work hours may be required due to the client’s global operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed business analysis to understand current workflows, identify gaps, and document business requirements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to analyze data, uncover trends, and recommend actionable insights.
- Work closely with finance, legal, compliance, IT, and client services teams
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, validate solutions, and ensure business alignment.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including timelines, RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), and budgets.
- Manage project scope, risks, and communication with all key stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
- Prepare clear, impactful reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Support project teams by promoting adherence to best practices and methodologies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years as a Business Analyst, preferably in legal, alternatively management consulting, or accounting
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience in cross-functional, global teams.
- Proficient with project management tools and methodologies.
- Skilled in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Strong skills in Excel, including Pivot Tables and advanced functions, to organize and analyze data clearly.
- Experience with SQL is an asset
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, OneDrive, Smartsheet).
- Post-secondary degree required.
- Relevant certifications (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, PMP, or process improvement) are a plus
