Are you a highly organized and hardworking? Are you looking for a challenging opportunity? Elections Alberta is seeking a Business Analyst to support the Information Technology team.
Under the guidance and direction of the Senior Business Analyst, this position is responsible for oversight of development and maintenance of various applications used to perform tasks such as manage elections, pay election staff, register voters, track political entities registration, monitor financial reporting and contributions of political entities, audit financial reports submitted by political entities and investigations relating to complaints received by Elections Alberta. Systems are mainly developed by external contractors, and continue to be developed, updated, and monitored through this position as the main point of contact.
This position is responsible for gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements and business rules, while actively engaging with both external contractors and internal stakeholders. The role holder will monitor system development progress, coordinate enhancements, and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions align with business needs. Additionally, this role leads training initiatives for supported applications and contributes to internal projects such as data maintenance of the Register of Electors, preparation of data reports, and enhancement of existing procedures.
This is a temporary-salaried position ending on or before March 31, 2026, with a possibility of extension.
University degree in a related field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field plus a minimum of two (2) years related experience; or equivalencies as follows:
A related two-year diploma and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience; or
A related one-year certificate and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience
Equivalencies may be considered.
