Salary: $2,972.86 to $3,903.67/ bi-weekly ($77,591 to $101,885 yearly)
Employees who work and reside in locations between the 55th and 57th parallels may be eligible for an annual retention bonus of $6,000, less all lawful deductions.

The Branch is part of the Primary Agriculture Division within the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation which owns and operates a portfolio of more than 200 dams and other water management infrastructure projects /systems with a total replacement value over $12 billion. The portfolio includes 70 dams, approximately 535 kilometres canals, headworks /diversion structures, dikes and flood control structures.
The water infrastructure portfolio in Northern Alberta includes the South Heart Dam, Hutch Lake Dam, Stoney Lake Dam, and Figure Eight Lake Dam, as well as the Winagami Canal, lake stabilization systems, outlet structures, and extensive drainage networks spread across the vast region.

If you have a strong hands-on civil or mechanical aptitude and are interested in contributing to water management infrastructure in the province, then we have an opportunity for you as an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Supervisor.
Reporting to the area Team Lead, this position is responsible for implementing the normal operating plans, flood action plans, geotechnical instrumentation data collection, surveillance inspections and emergency preparedness/response plans for water infrastructure projects located in the Peace Athabasca area that include river diversions, weirs, embankment canals and dams, large hydraulic structures including canal check/drops and spillways, and complex electromechanical, data acquisition and controls systems.

Division/Branch: Primary Agriculture/ Water Infrastructure Operations
Job Location: Peace River Provincial Building (9621-96 Ave, Peace River, AB T8S 1T4)
This position works a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday.
Travel within the community will be necessary, therefore reliable transportation and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required. Further, the incumbent will be required to reside within a 30-minute response time to provide timely response for emergency callouts during normal and flood operations while on the standby rotations.
This position is part of a 24/7 operation and may be subject to standby, callouts, remote alarming and emergency response throughout the year for the South Heart , Paddle River Dams including a number of high consequences and significant dams in Northen Alberta.
This position requires working alone during regular working hours, and while on standby and it may require working in adverse weather conditions.
The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks including Criminal Record Check, Academic Check and provide a 3 year Driver’s Abstract.
