Turnaround Static Equipment Planner – 1.5-Year Contract | Site-Based Role with Immediate Start
Agilus is recruiting for a Turnaround Static Equipment Planner in the oilsands industry in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Join a high-performing turnaround team as a Static Equipment Planner in Northern Alberta. This 1.5-year contract role offers immediate start, a 4x3 rotation, and the opportunity to lead planning for critical static equipment scopes. Ideal for experienced planners with a strong turnaround background.
Responsibilities:
Develop and prepare static equipment work packages in line with company standards.
Conduct job walkdowns and collaborate with engineers and contractors for constructability reviews.
Estimate labor, materials, and resources; develop BOMs and identify specialty tools.
Support execution teams with Scope Change Requests and real-time planning adjustments.
Integrate safety into all planning and risk assessments for equipment installation.
Resolve technical issues through RFIs and coordination with OEMs and vendors.
Update documentation post-execution and contribute to lessons learned sessions.
Maintain communication with supervisors and proactively address planning challenges.
Successful candidates will have:
Minimum 8 years of experience in static equipment planning, with 4+ years in turnaround
Strong background in turnaround/shutdown projects in oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery sectors.
Proficient in Maximo or similar CMMS, SPR, Excel, and Microsoft Office tools.
Mechanical Engineering diploma/degree, Red Seal trade certification, or Mechanical Technologist qualification required.
Deep understanding of static equipment such as heat exchangers, pressure vessels, columns, and tanks.
Skilled in reading P&IDs, isometrics, datasheets, and equipment layouts.
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities, especially during execution phases.
