Our real estate client is seeking a Technical Services Manager to oversee operations across a prestigious one-million-square-foot portfolio in downtown Toronto.
This pivotal role combines team leadership, capital project execution, and sustainable operations management. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, hands-on professional with a proven ability to drive operational excellence while delivering long-term value and performance across assets.
This is an on-site position in Downtown Toronto.
Responsibilities:- Oversee all technical systems including mechanical, electrical, and life safety components.
- Drive preventive maintenance programs and sustainability initiatives to reduce energy consumption and improve building performance.
- Manage utility tracking and implement energy conservation measures.
- Lead planning and execution of capital projects, ensuring timeliness, quality, and budget adherence.
- Collaborate with the Property Manager to develop and manage capital plans and budgets.
- Administer tenders, contracts, and service agreements to optimize service delivery.
- Ensure all life safety systems and compliance documentation are current and effectively implemented.
- Work with security and safety teams to maintain emergency and risk management protocols.
- Build strong relationships with tenants, addressing concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
- Collaborate with service providers and consultants to align with sustainability and operational goals.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary operations team to ensure high performance and collaboration.
Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience in commercial property operations with leadership experience.
- Post-secondary education in engineering, facility management, or a related discipline (BES I & II, SMT, SMA preferred).
- P.Eng designation is an asset but not required.
- Demonstrated success managing capital projects and operational budgets.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Yardi, and building automation systems.
