Our valued Federal Government client is currently seeking a Senior Network Support Specialist for a long term, ONSITE contract opportunity in Ottawa, Ontario. The selected consultant will provide support for the engineering evaluation, design and implementation activities for a Communications and Systems project.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyse the IT hardware requirements and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Implement, install, and configure Network equipment in racks/systems.
- Provide design recommendations for test cases.
- Document the IT network setup and build/configuration. Update system documentation for any changes that occur.
- Maintain network security.
- Prepare equipment block diagrams.
- Prepare cable interconnect diagrams.
- Prepare system configuration diagrams.
- Install and assist with testing equipment.
Qualifications and Skills
- VALID Top Secret Clearance
- 5+ years of experience administering, installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, supporting and maintaining Information Technology (IT) products, services and infrastructure.
- 7+ Years of experience planning, designing or implementing a network security device or system.
- 7+ years of experience with at least 2 of the following:
- Microsoft network operating system products;
- VMWare operating systems software products;
- Cisco Enterprise and Service provider class products;
- Internet Protocol Networks; and
- Applications Integration.
Education
A Post-Secondary Degree in a relevant IM/IT Field is required
