Salesforce Developer – Contract Opportunity (Hybrid, Oakville ON)
6-Month Contract to Start – High Likelihood of Extension
We have an exciting contract opportunity for a Salesforce Developer to join a lean, fast-paced technical team supporting a multi-service public sector organization based in Oakville, Ontario. This hybrid role requires on-site presence Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The successful candidate will replace an existing consultant and must be capable of quickly integrating into ongoing projects and delivering value from day one. Strong communication, technical initiative, and a well-rounded Salesforce skill set across both build and run activities are essential.
You will work closely with a small but mighty technical team, including a CRM Admin, 2 Salesforce consultants, web developers, and a UX/UI specialist. The team is currently dipping its toes into public sector solutions and requires a developer who can also contribute as a BA or QA when needed, demonstrating flexibility beyond development alone.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable Salesforce solutions.
- Take ownership of development and configuration tasks involving Apex, Lightning Components, workflows, validations, and data modeling.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues, proactively identify technical limitations, and drive continuous improvements.
- Support ongoing modifications to authentication processes, data models, and business account structures.
- Contribute to both short-term quick wins and long-term strategic projects with minimal handholding.
- Play a critical role in system deployments, ensuring readiness and awareness of deployment schedules and responsibilities.
- Document technical approaches and assist with post-implementation support including user training and issue resolution.
What we are looking for:
- A seasoned Salesforce Developer / Consultant / SME with at least 5 years of hands-on experience, including exposure to public sector solutions.
- Strong proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce APIs.
- Experience across build and run environments, including continuous improvements and support roles.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security, data access models, and integration methods.
- Ability to operate independently in a lean team where multi-tasking and shifting priorities are the norm.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile practices and tools such as JIRA, DevOps platforms, GitHub, or Gearset is an asset.
- Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I/II and OmniStudio Developer preferred.
