Agilus is recruiting for a Project Manager IT in the Insurance in a hybrid work environment in Toronto, Ontario.
The Project Manager will apply high-quality project management methodologies and best practices to oversee a diverse portfolio of projects, including those of significant complexity and scale at both the program and project levels.
A typical day:
Plan, manage, and successfully deliver multiple complex and high-profile projects simultaneously.
Lead project teams and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in scope.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and work breakdown structures.
Conduct post-project evaluations to ensure defined success criteria are met.
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks; communicate risk management strategies to stakeholders.
Monitor project financials, resolve issues promptly, and provide regular status updates to leadership.
Oversee implementation efforts and transition processes to address business risks effectively.
Leverage the strengths of project team members through effective leadership and collaboration.
Manage stakeholder expectations while aligning projects with overall business goals.
Utilize knowledge of emerging technologies and evolving business practices to support project delivery.

Demonstrate an understanding of business needs and provide insights and recommendations to ensure organizational success.
Mentor other project managers in methodology and challenge resolution.

Successful candidates will have:
5–10 years of experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex business and IT projects.
PMP certification and/or Agile/Scrum certification or equivalent experience.
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is an asset.
Experience managing IT Infrastructure or Application Development projects.
Familiarity with life insurance products, systems, and industry-specific processes, including New Business and In-Force administration, is required.
Solid understanding of IT systems and technologies.
Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Deep knowledge of project management methodologies with the ability to guide project planning, identify technical risks, and evaluate alternative solutions.
Ability to prioritize issues based on business needs, technical constraints, and user impact.
