Your Opportunity
Our Building Specialty Services group is seeking a Senior Building Energy Engineer. Your Key Responsibilities
Develop energy models, interpret building design documents, and work with in-house and external design teams to guide efficient design.
Act as the project manager and technical expert for projects from proposal to closeout, with support from Stantec’s team.
Provide quality assurance and review models, reports, and presentations for technical integrity and to meet clients’ needs.
Assist design teams and clients in defining their energy goals and designing to achieve those goals.
Maintain project budgets while delivering a high level of service with a strong client focus.
Maintain knowledge and awareness of best practices and developing technology in the energy consulting industry.
Collaborate with Stantec 's envelope, façade, sustainability, and mechanical teams to deliver high performance building designs and cutting-edge research.
Develop research projects, technological improvements, conference presentations, etc.
Help keep Stantec at the forefront of energy efficient design via technical know-how, client service, training, and innovation.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledge of energy efficient building design, energy simulation software, energy management and incentive programs, HVAC and lighting systems as well as an understanding of building envelope.
Knowledge of energy codes and best practices (ASHRAE, NECB, etc.), understanding of green building standards and sustainability certifications.
Strong analytical and modelling skills.
Self-motivated and multi-tasker, excellent time management skills, excellent communication skills (written, oral), and exceptional attention to detail.
Strong consensus building skills and a team approach.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Engineering Degree is required; master’s degree in a relevant field is considered an asset. Minimum 10 years of previous experience in building energy consulting, energy modelling, and energy audits.
Eligibility for registration as a P.Eng.
LEED AP, CEM, CMVP, or BEMP designations are an asset.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
