Your Opportunity
Our Transportation team is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Markham, ON team.
Your Key Responsibilities
Coordinates with the project team to maintain project documentation, process deliverables, and progress tracking.
Assists in the resolution of project issues.
Prepare status reports for all process work as required.
Implement process and procedures, including all communication, documentation, receivables and deliverables on the project, for major utility infrastructure relocations including high, medium and low voltage electrical systems; telecommunications and cable TV; traffic signals and street lighting; water, sewer, gas and drainage; and civil in a congested urban corridor.
Understanding of Subsurface Utility Investigation and utility relocation.
Experience in the review of engineering drawings.
Studies drawings and specifications issued to the field and reports to the Project Manager any ambiguities, interferences or errors found on drawings, specifications and assigned work.
Ensure QA/QC with applicable codes, manufacturer’s instructions, vendor drawings and installation procedures required for fieldwork.
Enthusiastic, passionate, patient and should be a critical thinker.
You should possess good logical skills and the ability to prioritize tasks depending upon the urgent situations.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Thorough knowledge of engineering principles, techniques and procedures.
Ability to effectively discuss project issues with project team and clients, including ability to resolve conflict situations.
Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the project team, obtaining and sharing necessary information.
Ability to work in Microsoft Office Tools and CAD software.
Team Player, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Leadership and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work under tight schedules.
Ability to understand contract fundamentals, OPSS, CSA, Metrolinx, MTO and other applicable standards.
Must be legally able to work in Canada.
Education and Experience
A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or Technician/Technologist Diploma in engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Eligible for C.E.T or E.I.T. designation is an asset.
Familiar with subsurface investigation and utility relocation, Supervision, Quality Control & Assurance.
Experience in the field of Transportation, Structural & Geotechnical Engineering will be an asset.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with utility related work exposure.
