Agilus is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with proven expertise in enterprise-scale data migration to support a high-profile cloud modernization project with a leading investment management firm in Toronto. Responsibilities: Lead the design and execution of large-scale data migration initiatives to a modern Azure-based platform. Build, manage, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Snowflake. Assess existing data structures, identify transformation requirements, and ensure seamless migration across environments. Document data flows, technical specifications, and processes to support knowledge transfer and future enhancements. Conduct rigorous unit, system, and performance testing to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in data engineering and data warehousing, with a strong focus on data migration projects. Proven expertise in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Synapse Analytics. Advanced SQL skills, including complex query writing, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Strong understanding of ETL/ELT patterns, data validation, and transformation best practices. Preferred: Exposure to Master Data Management (MDM) or Data Quality (DQ) frameworks. Preferred: Background in asset management or investment industry (buy-side experience is an asset). Soft skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to address complex data migration challenges. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable data solutions.
