Payroll Administrator
Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a large workforce. This is a full-time contract role, required onsite 5 days per week, with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for calculating and submitting payroll deductions and benefits, responding to employee inquiries regarding pay, and maintaining accurate payroll records. Additional responsibilities include preparing payroll reports, processing Records of Employment, and reconciling payroll-related accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll.
- Calculate and remit payroll deductions and benefits within required deadlines.
- Respond professionally to employee and departmental inquiries related to payroll.
- Provide accurate payroll information to staff in a timely manner.
- Process Records of Employment and submit them to government agencies as required.
- Participate in payroll administration and processing on a rotational basis.
- Manage remittances of statutory and other benefit deductions.
- Perform payroll account reconciliations and maintain accurate records.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and professional working environment for all employees.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a post-secondary diploma in payroll, accounting, business, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing within a mid- to large-sized organization.
- Understanding of payroll legislation, remittances, and reporting requirements.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets and general payroll software.
- Ability to interpret and apply payroll guidelines and policies accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated reliability and consistent attendance.
