Salary: From 55 to 70 per Hour
 

We are assisting our construction & logistics client in the search for a hands-on, experienced Accounting Manager to join their team on a 3-month contract with potential for extension. This role will report to the Director of Finance, and requires someone who can step in quickly, take ownership of the accounting function, and support the team in delivering accurate and timely financial results. This is a hybrid role, 3 days a week in office in Burlington, ON.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the month-end and year-end close process
  • Oversee accounts payable functions and ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments
  • Help to prepare, review and assess financial statements—including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports—ensuring compliance with GAAP (ASPE) and internal policies
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Monitor treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
  • Facilitate internal and external audit processes by coordinating documentation and providing necessary financial data
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and provide financial insights
  • Support the Director of Finance with financial reporting and analysis

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or Senior Accountant
  • CPA designation is preferred; candidates with equivalent experience and strong tenure will also be considered
  • Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including financial statement preparation and AP oversight
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, or similar industries is an asset but not required
  • Strong command of large ERP systems, ideally Business Central, Oracle, or SAP.
