The Senior Manager, Commercial Bank Testing is a team leader role within the BMO Commercial Bank Headquarters Risk & Control group. Risk & Control group is responsible for leading 1st Line efforts, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and managed within Bank policy and regulatory guidelines.

Applies in-depth/expert knowledge of risk management and internal controls related to Commercial business processes, underwriting and portfolio monitoring.  Leads and manages testing team.  Develops and maintains an effective internal operational control and data quality testing framework which defines how testing is implemented, executed, managed, monitored and reported across the Commercial Bank.  Writes operational control test scripts, executes testing, monitoring and operational activities of various complexity based on assigned portfolio ensuring adherences to established service levels and standards. Provide insights and recommendations on test results, findings, identified issues, re-performance testing, and continuous improvement insights.

  • Creates and maintains adequate testing support documentation such as workpapers, testing reports, etc. to support the results of reviews including the write-up of findings/issues for reporting.
  • Manages resources and leads the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.
  • Leads the execution of operational testing programs; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.
  • Participates in planning and implementation of operational testing programs and executes within required service level agreements and standards.
  • Provides advice and guidance on control effectiveness, program compliance and issue descriptions.
  • Executes identified test programs for a variety of specializations to support effective testing & monitoring of controls within business groups and across the Bank.
  • Provides clear communication and leadership for the testing team and cascade to different levels.
  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
  • Builds interdependent teams that collaborate across functional and operating groups to create the highest value for all stakeholders.
  • Manages testing execution resource planning and strategy.
  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Leads the development of the communication strategy focusing on positively influencing or changing behaviour.
  • Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal stakeholders.
  • Analyzes root causes of any errors discovered to provide for effective communication of issues to appropriate parties.
  • Reviews control and issue closure testing activities performed by team members to ensure accuracy.
  • Provides ongoing support to the continuous improvement process of the business unit.
  • Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Implements changes in response to shifting trends.
  • Improves team performance, recognizes and rewards performance, coaches employees, supports their development, and manages poor performance.
  • Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
  • Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.
  • Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
  • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Defines business requirements for analytics & reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision making.
  • Analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborates across BMO to develop communications strategies and ensure consistency of messaging, in order to positively influence or change behaviour.
  • Supports change management of varying scope and type; tasks typically focused on execution and sustainment activities.
  • Works with partners for process consistency across execution teams.
  • Provides guidelines and vision to assess and adapt current testing programs and develops new operational testing capabilities to ensure ongoing efficient & effective delivery.
  • Provides input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Understands the business/group strategy and develops and maintains knowledge of end to end processes.
  • Develops knowledge related to program and/or area of specialty.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal & external business partners/stakeholders to execute work and fulfill service delivery expectations.
  • Executes work to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient service delivery.
  • Ensures consistent, high quality practices/work and the achievement of business results in alignment with business/group strategies and with productivity goals.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed

Qualifications:

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expert understanding of BMO Commercial Bank processes and business/group challenges.
  • Audit and/or testing background helpful.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Influence skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert.

Salaire :

$84,000.00 - $156,000.00

Ce qui précède représente la fourchette et le type de rémunération de BMO Groupe financier.

Les salaires varieront en fonction de facteurs comme l’emplacement, les compétences, l’expérience, les études et les qualifications pour le poste et pourront inclure une structure de commissions. Les salaires pour les postes à temps partiel seront calculés au prorata du nombre d’heures travaillées régulièrement. Pour les rôles à commission, le salaire susmentionné représente la cible de BMO Groupe financier pour la première année au poste.

La rémunération totale offerte par BMO variera selon le type de rémunération associé au poste et peut comprendre des primes de rendement, des primes discrétionnaires ainsi que d’autres avantages et récompenses.
