Accounting Manager – Accounts Payable (Permanent Role)
Location: Toronto, ON

A leading Canadian company in the food and beverage manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager – Accounts Payable to join their team. About the Role:
As the Accounting Manager – Accounts Payable, you will lead and manage the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate processing, regulatory compliance, and ongoing process optimization. You’ll play a key leadership role within the finance team, driving improvements and supporting key financial activities, including audits and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and support the AP team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.

  • Drive continuous improvement and implement best practices in AP processes and systems.

  • Oversee vendor payments, month-end close, and relevant tax filings.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulations.

  • Monitor AP performance metrics and provide insights to senior leadership.

  • Support internal and external audit processes with required documentation and analysis.

  • Review intercompany transactions and ensure accurate journal entries and reconciliations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA designation (or in progress) preferred.

  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership.

  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a strong asset.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
