What you’ll be doing:
Reporting to the Managing Counsel, Human Resources , you will support the entire business providing legal advice on a wide range of employment matters including the following:
•    Progressive discipline, attendance management and other day to day employee issues (e.g. Canada Labour Code matters, constructive dismissal, unjust dismissal etc.)
•    Severance
•    Accommodation/Human Rights
•    Offer letters/employment agreements
•    Benefits and compensation (including pension)
•    Corporate investigations (e.g. workplace harassment, discrimination, employee misconduct, etc.)
•    Company policies and procedures
•    New legislative developments and HR training
•    Litigation and/or litigation management
•    Employment specific mergers and acquisition support
 
What we are looking for:
•    3-5 years employment and labour law experience, preferably in the federally regulated sector
•    Employment litigation and/or grievance arbitration experience would be an asset
•    Strong oral and written communication skills
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities
•    Sound business judgment and the ability to provide practical business-oriented legal advice
•    Law degree (LLB/JD) and membership in a provincial bar of Canada
