We are seeking a Senior Advisor of Risk to support the implementation and enhancement of our client's enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
You will report on key organizational risks, improve governance and compliance processes, and assist with risk assessments. This role involves collaboration with internal stakeholders and the risk team to embed effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the ERM framework implementation and continuous improvement.
- Identify, document, analyze, and report on organizational risks.
- Prepare risk reports (including board-level) and related materials.
- Coordinate risk assessment activities, meetings, and information gathering.
- Maintain risk registers, control documentation, and action plans.
- Contribute to enhancing governance and compliance processes.
- Analyze risk data and prepare insightful reports.
- Provide administrative/operational support to the Audit, Risk & Compliance team, including deep dives into specific sub-risks.
- Act as an SME for assigned risks, advising stakeholders.
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
- Experience with ERM frameworks and their practical application.
- Experience in an operational risk program or a 2nd line function in a regulated industry.
- Ability to analyze data and prepare risk/compliance reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Understanding of risk frameworks like COSO or ISO 31000.
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid: 2 days on-site; office moving downtown Aug/Sept)
Contract: 5 months (potential for extension/permanency; expanding team)
