Salary: From 65000 to 75000 per Year
 
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Building Operator for our property management client in Mississauga. This role is critical to ensuring the commercial property is safe, compliant, and operating at peak efficiency. 

This is a full-time, permanent position that offers competitive pay, 3-weeks' vacation, 10 sick days, paid benefits, and more.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations, codes, and company policies
  • Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform regular inspections of site systems and equipment (e.g., boilers, heat pumps, rooftop units) and maintain detailed logs
  • Conduct and document daily readings of major building systems to detect and resolve irregularities
  • Perform or arrange repairs for interior, exterior, and roof damage and respond to seasonal requirements such as snow clearing
  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance contractors and ensure service contracts are followed and service levels met
  • Respond promptly to tenant concerns, building emergencies, and after-hours service calls
  • Assist with building budget preparation and support Property Manager with operational tasks as required

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of maintenance experience in a commercial, retail, or industrial environment
  • Certificate in Building Environmental Systems is an asset
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems
  • Familiarity with OHSA, WHMIS, and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints
