Our federal government client is requesting a requires a Security Management Professional (Certified Protection Professional / Physical Security Professional) to upgrade the Access Control System (ACS) for the National Integrated Security System (NISS).

Tasks: 
  • Identify, research, develop, and suggest improvements for the implementation of security system hardware, software, equipment and products, policies and procedures that will serve to strengthen the department’s operations. Define all current parts that can be reused on another system (compatible);
  • Conduct and synthesize project and site-specific technical, business and functional requirements through workshops and provide implementation guidance to the department;
  • Support the refinement of a physical security system architecture and system designs;
  • Support the client in coordinating server and networking requirements with Shared Services Canada;
  • Support the client in the development of documentation for the purposes of the department’s internal Project Management and Infrastructure Gating processes;
  • Support the development of technical specifications, statements of work and implementation plans;
  • Support the development of system templates and configuration to ensure consistent system applications across facilities;
  • Support the development of IT and systems-related project management deliverables, including system architectures, operational and technical manuals and test procedures;
  • Provide implementation and procurement support and analysis services;
  • Support and coordinate the development and cataloguing of as-built documentation, project close-out documentation, installation reports;
  • Develop, support and coordinate the development and implementation of an access card management process;
  • Provide support in the documentation of additions to departmental business continuity plans and high availability configurations;
  • Support vendor and ensure coordination of activities and quality control programs;
  • Develop and deliver a robust project schedule; and,
  • Provide and develop associated cost estimates for the National Integrated Security System (NISS) project.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Professional Security Industry Designation as a Board Certified Professional from ASIS International (CPP or PSP)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 
  • Active Reliability clearance 
  • 10 years of experience within the enterprise physical security systems industry providing security design and management consultations.
  • Experience leading the design and implementation of enterprise physical security systems in a Canadian federal government departments
