Agilus is recruiting for a Turnaround Technical Coordinator in the Oil&Gas Industry in Redwater, Alberta.
Reporting to the Lead – Technical Coordinator, the Technical Coordinator is accountable for the engineering, cost, schedule, quality, reporting, and overall coordination for the engineering, procurement, and construction phases of scope change requests identified in TA2025. The Technical Coordinator will manage the overall found work scope and its interface with both internal and external engineering resources from the original conceptual design through to closeout for changes to the refinery.
Responsibilities:
Develops and stewards the project philosophies and defines project technical and documentation requirements for the project scope to ensure specifications and standards are met across all engineering interfaces in conjunction with the various disciplines and departments
Utilizes and champions the Problems, Threats, and Opportunities (PTO) system and leads issues to resolution as assigned
Facilitates and coordinates risk assessments for all assigned projects; Identifies and manages risks to the appropriate level within the organization
Coordinates and liaises on construction strategy and integration to ensure constructability and costs are accurately understood and reflected in project estimate
Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) process. Monitors costs throughout the project lifecycle and provides updated schedule and cost forecasts
Makes decisions and resolves execution issues to ensure the project remains on track, balancing cost, schedule and quality
Escalates technical, schedule and cost trends to stakeholders as they are uncovered while communicating impact to overall outcome, cost and schedule; coordinators or contractors performing the work
Liaises closely with the other Facilities Engineers, Projects Engineers, and technical an dfunctional support to ensure all aspects of project execution are on track and coordinated
Requirements:
10 years of total experience, which can be a combination of technical experience and project management experience on projects in an operating environment
Must be a strategic thinker and planner with an ability to recognize when detailed information is required and interpret that detail to evaluate project progress and issues
Must be able to draw on broad experience applicable to detailed engineering, construction and procurement to prevent and solve issues and make decisions in line with the project philosophy and execution plans
Familiarity with project, markup and change management tools (MS Projects, Bluebeam, Maximo) is an advantage
