Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Materials Management Supervisor to join their team on a full-time contract basis. This role will work closely with the Materials Team and support the Materials Manager, playing a key part in overseeing day-to-day inventory operations.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the daily activities of the Materials Handling team.
- Partner with the Quality department to proactively address issues that may lead to inventory shortages.
- Validate China order sheets to ensure accuracy and proper timing of procurement.
- Audit purchase orders for correctness and alignment with planning forecasts.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and execute initiatives that are already underway.
- Support the Director of Purchasing with both strategic projects and day-to-day operations.
- Ensure accuracy in Item Master data within the ERP system.
- Develop and maintain detailed, accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Recommend part standardization and consolidation opportunities to streamline inventory.
- Continuously pursue improvements in cost efficiency across the supply chain.
Requirements:
- Must have experience with ERP and MRP software.
- Must have advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or a related support function.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in materials or production planning roles.
- A diploma or degree in Purchasing, Materials Management, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
The Successful Candidate Will Possess:
- Demonstrated initiative, positivity, and a focus on team development and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with other ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and strong understanding of data structure, item setup, and BOM management.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement frameworks.
- Experience in project management or leading cross-functional teams in dynamic, high-paced environments.
- Background in logistics, warehousing, or distribution center operations with knowledge of inventory flow dynamics.
