Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to maintain, support, and improve the performance, integrity, and security of our corporate data systems. This role is critical in planning, managing, and optimizing SQL Server environments, including data migration, backup/recovery, and performance monitoring, while also contributing to the development of robust and scalable database architectures.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain on-premise Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Manage and monitor database storage, backups, replication, recovery, and encryption to ensure high availability and disaster readiness.
Design, develop, and maintain database architecture, including schema design and performance tuning.
Plan and coordinate data migration activities between systems.
Identify and resolve data abnormalities and system inefficiencies.
Liaise with internal teams and application staff to deliver aligned and secure business technology solutions.
Set up and maintain SSIS packages and data pipelines for ETL processes.
Ensure data security, integrity, and confidentiality through well-established protocols.
Serve as a project manager for infrastructure and database-related projects, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
Research, evaluate, and recommend database and performance measurement tools to improve system operations.
Prepare technical designs and specifications to support development and integration initiatives.
Technical Qualifications
Extensive hands-on experience with on-premise Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Strong understanding of database design, replication, mirroring, encryption, and performance tuning.
Experience in data modeling and ETL development using SSIS.
In-depth knowledge of software development practices and how they interact with database systems.
Proven experience in setting up new SQL servers and databases from the ground up.
Ability to create and enforce data security and backup standards.
Skilled in technical documentation, including design specs and system architecture.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to analyze and recommend improvements to existing data infrastructure.
Proven track record in self-directed work with minimal supervision.
Collaborative and capable of establishing effective relationships across departments.
