We process and analyze millions of pricing and usage events every second to provide customers with accurate, timely, and comprehensive billing information. Enterprise customers make significant financial decisions based on the billing data and insights our products deliver.

You will tackle architectural challenges in processing and presenting complex billing data for diverse customer needs. You will be empowered to innovate on behalf of customers, make critical decisions, and develop elegant solutions for complicated billing scenarios. You'll work with advanced AWS technologies including Kinesis, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, and others. Your work will directly impact millions of AWS customers, helping them understand and optimize their cloud spending through intuitive billing interfaces and cost management tools.

The AWS Billing Experience team is rapidly evolving, offering you opportunities to both learn and contribute significantly to our success. You'll work on projects ranging from real-time billing data processing to developing new features that enhance billing transparency and cost optimization capabilities.

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:

Help to define the system architecture, own and implement specific components, and help shape the overall experience.
Collaborate closely with product managers and other software developers to help define the scope of the product.
You will take responsibility for technical problem solving, creatively meeting product goals, and developing best practices.
You will demonstrate cross-functional resource interaction to accomplish your goals.
Write high-quality, efficient, testable code in and other object-oriented languages.
Build highly available, secure, and event-driven systems.
Collaborate with and learn from some of the best software developers in the industry.
Find out what it takes to engineer secured systems for Amazon Web Services.
Contribute to planning, architecture, implementation, testing, and process improvement.
Share your knowledge of the most effective performance, scalability, architecture, and engineering patterns and methods.

Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
