Job Description:

Fanshawe College is seeking interested and experienced legal professionals to teach part-time in the Family Legal Services Provider (FLP) Certificate program in the School of Public Safety.  

 

Reporting to the Associate Dean, School of Public Safety, part-time professors are responsible for teaching courses within the Family Legal Services Provider Certificate program and developing an effective learning environment for students.

Note: These are part-time temporary Faculty positions (up to 6 hours per week) starting September 2, 2025, and ending December 12, 2025.

General Qualifications: 

  • Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success 

  • Excellent communicator 

  • Strong interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners 

  • Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required 

  • Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery preferred 

  • Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets 

    Specific Qualifications:  

    • Post-secondary 4-year in University Law Program 

    • Master’s degree in a related field of study and/or Bachelor of Education/Master of Education is an asset 

    • Minimum 5 years’ recent family law practice experience as a lawyer within the Province of Ontario is required

    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

    • L1 License in good standing with Law Society of Ontario is required (must provide LSO number) 

    • An ability to demonstrate an understanding of the challenges of diverse student groups is an asset
