Altis has partnered with an insolvency firm to recruit an Insolvency Counsellor. This is an excited opportunity for a registered BIA Counsellor or an individual looking to be registered.
The Registered Insolvency Counsellor or Counsellor in Training will join their team on a remote basis. Reporting to the team lead, you will provide counselling services to individuals who have filed for bankruptcy or entered into a proposal. This role is critical to delivering support and guidance to clients during a challenging time in their financial lives. You’ll assist clients in understanding their financial obligations, work with them to develop effective budgeting strategies, and ensure they are equipped to move forward on a more stable financial footing.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Administer first and second counselling sessions to clients as required by the BIA.
- Assess debtors’ budget plans and financial goals.
- Provide empathetic and supportive financial guidance.
- Complete counselling sessions by telephone, video, and occasionally in-person.
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered BIA Counsellor or open to Counsellor in Training (relevant experience required).
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and non-judgmental approach.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- High computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong time management skills to handle a busy caseload.
