We are assisting our financial industry client with the search for a Solution Design Engineer.
Position Type: Full time Permanent
Base salary: $110,000 – 120,000 per year
Location: Toronto downtown, Mississauga, or London (Hybrid: in office 2 days a week)
Position Summary:
The Senior Solution Designer is responsible for designing complex, enterprise-wide IT solutions involving multiple back-end systems. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to align solutions with business goals, create technical design specifications, and lead projects through strategy, development, and integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and document innovative, cost-effective IT solutions.
- Translate business requirements into detailed design specs.
- Develop technology roadmaps (1–3 years).
- Lead design reviews and mentor junior team members.
- Ensure designs align with architectural standards and business needs.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Solution Design or a similar technical role.
- Strong experience with Azure is required.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodology, SOA Design Patterns, REST APIs, and Web Services.
- Solid grasp of security protocols (e.g., SAML, JWT, Single Sign-On).
- Familiarity with infrastructure components including VMs, cloud platforms, high availability, and non-functional requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders, business teams, and technical staff.
- Experience working with internal and external partners for system integration.
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in SQL, .NET or Java, and experience with BI tools like Tableau, Salesforce, Alteryx, and Microsoft Power Platform.
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience with SSRS and SSIS.
- Understanding of ETL processes.
- Proficiency in Alteryx and SQL.
- Familiarity with AI concepts.
