Agilus is recruiting for a GIS Technologist in the Utilities sector in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Canada's largest electrical utility companies as a Network Modeler within their Geospatial Network Connectivity team. This is a GIS Technologist position requiring a very strong understanding of electrical utilities, networks, and circuits. Responsibilities: Producing, editing, analyzing, and modeling data specific to the team function. Updating Network Model with new extension or upgrades to electrical system using Hexagon G/Technology HxGN suite of applications. Using external or internal supplied CAD drawings as base for Network Model update. Using external or internal supplied CAD drawings, and survey data points, as base for Network Model update. Ensuring connectivity continuity within Networks Core Designer-Analyst. Resolving the types of connectivity issues which can impact operability of OMS system prior to GIS/OMS map migration Analyzing the upstream and downstream traces in Networks Core Designer-Analyst to create reports or assist with data inquiry. Following instruction, drawings, sketches, and schematics of the Distribution Construction Standards Manual (DCSM) for modeling data in GIS system. Successful candidates will have: A minimum two-year technical diploma in a related field (e.g. Electrical Engineering Technology). At least one year's experience with a configured version of the HxGN NetWorks Core Designer-Analyst (formerly Integraph Hexagon G/Technology Designer) application is preferred. A minimum of three years’ experience with other utilities' configuration of the same application may be considered. Experience working for an Alberta-based utility is preferred. Excellent communication skills and a team approach. This is an in-office position based in Downtown Edmonton. Total rewards: A minimum 1-year contract with the potential for extension.
