Our client in the non-profit sector is hiring a Communications & Content Specialist to join their team full-time in Ottawa. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing strategic content across various channels, including e-blasts, reports, social media, and member communications. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex industry topics for a wide range of audiences.
This is a permanent position, requiring 2 days in-office, and 3 days remote (on-site parking available).
Responsibilities:
- Research, write, and edit high-quality content (e.g., articles, reports, guides) for the real property valuation profession
- Develop and coordinate member-focused communications, such as e-blasts and updates
- Draft organizational communications, including press releases and policy updates
- Support event marketing by creating materials for webinars, conferences, and workshops
- Ensure editorial consistency and adherence to brand standards across all content
- Collaborate with the executive team to align communications with organizational goals
- Measure and optimize the impact of communications efforts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field
- Bilingual in French and English asset
- Minimum 3 years of experience in writing or communications, preferably in an association, regulatory body, or non-profit
- Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Experience with content management systems, email marketing, and social media platforms
- Knowledge of the Canadian real estate, finance, or property valuation sector is an asset
- Creative, adaptable, and able to engage diverse audiences
