Our client in the insurance industry, is seeking a Bilingual HR & Administration Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a range of administrative and support functions within the HR department. You will also assist the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and the Administration team as needed. With a strong focus on compensation, pension, and benefits, the ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in these areas and play a key role in enhancing and managing the company’s compensation and benefits strategies.
This is a 12-month maternity leave contract with the possibility of extension. The position is primarily remote, with the excpetion of 2 days per month onsite in either their Downtown or Scarbarough office.
Responsibilities
- Handle new hire and benefits change requests.
- Process employee terminations.
- Respond to benefits-related employee questions.
- Request pension calculations and assist with benefit info sessions.
- Maintain vacation records and assist with the Service Award Program.
- Assist with retiree benefits, leave of absence, and health & safety issues.
- Liaise with benefit providers for resolution.
- Provide support to the SVP, Human Resources.
- Assist with mailroom duties, reception, and office management.
- Contribute to department projects and conduct HR-related research.
- Ensure accurate data in HRIS and employee files.
- Maintain records in benefit provider portals.
- Managers at all levels, employees within IBC
- Third-party benefit providers, retirees, and employees from other supported organizations
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in HR or related field.
- Bilingual in French and English required.
- 3 years of HR experience; 3 years in benefits preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR data management.
- Proficient in Excel and Word (formulas, charts, mail merge, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Strong analytical, systems, and process skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Collaborative team player.
