Agilus is recruiting for a AML Business Analyst in the Financial Services in Toronto, Ontario.
Our client is seeking an experienced, self-sufficient Business Analyst. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large, complex initiatives with a focus on data. This position requires someone who can work independently with minimal guidance and is able to drive projects forward. The candidate will also need to demonstrate strong analytical skills, especially in data profiling, data mapping, and requirements gathering.
A typical day:
Lead and support large, complex initiatives, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
Perform data profiling and data mapping activities, focusing on data quality, integrity, and accuracy.
Gather and document business requirements through traditional waterfall methodology (BRD, SRD, and a combination of both), ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
Translate business impacts into clear, actionable technical requirements for the project team.
Successful candidates will have:
Proven experience in Business Analysis, with a focus on large, complex initiatives.
Strong data-focused skills, with experience in data profiling and data mapping (not just SQL).
Excellent requirements gathering and documentation skills, specifically within the waterfall methodology (BRD, SRD).
Strong ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and understand business impacts of technology projects.
Experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or related financial services.
Quick learner with a strong aptitude for understanding new domains, such as the AML space.

Self-starter with a "driver mentality" – must be able to work independently and push projects forward without waiting for instructions.
