Agilus is recruiting for a Fire Protection Specialist in the Fire Protection Service Industry in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a full-time permanent opportunity open to candidates with entry-level, intermediate or senior experience. Our client is looking for a team player with a great work ethic willing to learn and grow - and if experienced then also willing to teach! Responsibilities: Design automatic fire sprinkler systems in accordance with the requirements of current codes (building code & NFPA) Prepare general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD & HydraCAD/ AutoSPRINK software Complete hydraulic calculations utilizing HydraCAD or AutoSPRINK software to determine sprinkler head selection, piping sizes, fire pump sizes Conduct fire protection assessment utilizing AFT Fathom software Coordinate fire protection piping layouts with other trades such as HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Structural, etc. Prepare material orders and fabrication documents based on the fire protection drawings Review fire protection designs prepared by others, ensuring designs are safe, efficient, effective, and practical Participate in project meetings with project managers & other trades for project coordination Requirements: Being a team player with a great attitude, willing to learn and grow (and teach if senior) is a must-have University/college degree or diploma in Fire Protection (for example, CFPE, CFPS, FPT etc) Experience in mechanical, electrical, or fire protection design; understanding of NFPA standards, Building Code, and FM Global guidelines Working experience of AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks Working experience of HydraCAD, AutoSprink or equivalent sprinkler design Working experience of AFT Fathom or equivalent hydraulic analysis design is an asset Working experience of 3D drafting, BIM, Revit would be considered an asset Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills; Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting; Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
