Our client is seeking a skilled Investment Analyst to join their team. In this role, you’ll gather and analyze data, develop financial models, prepare forecasts, and generate reports that drive key business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting, particularly in real estate. This is a permanent role and is hybrid in Ottawa.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather and organize historical data from internal databases to create new financial models in Excel.
• Prepare land and housing financial forecasts, cash flow reports, and equity investment reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain a consolidated cash flow model from the start to the end of life for all land development, construction, and property management projects.
• Maximize profitability by analyzing complex project budgets and creating pro forma models.
• Drive process improvements by creating ad-hoc and standardized reports.
• Enhance ERP system setup and improve dashboard development.
• Mentor and share knowledge with colleagues to support team development.

 

What You’ll Bring:

• Post-secondary education in commerce, math, computer science, or engineering.
• CFA or MBA certification is a valuable asset.
• 2+ years of experience in financial modeling.
• Experience with Yardi and/or NewStar ERP systems is highly beneficial.
• Background in real estate preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Highly organized and able to handle large volumes of information efficiently.
