Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer in the Engineering/Fabrication Industry in Calgary, Alberta.
Our EPC client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems and instrumentation for our industrial processes. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, control systems, and instrumentation technologies.
Responsibilities:
Develop, evaluate, and resolve issues related to electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical control systems, as well as instrumentation, automation platforms, devices, and supporting equipment.
Prepare equipment specs and recommendation for bid review analysis.
Design equipment layout, control schematic and writing diagram for Control System specifications.
Understanding of and experience with Loop diagrams, I/O writing, instrument selection, PLC control programming, HMI programing.
Experience with cost estimating, reviewing, evaluating and submitting bids.
Knowledge working with project controls to establish schedules.
Resolve issues with construction.
On site start up and commissioning.
Successful candidates will have:
Experience as an electrical, instrumentation and controls engineer/designer for modular process skids or packaged equipment.
Degree/Technical diploma in Electrical and/or Instrumentation Design/Drafting.
Experience with high, medium, and low voltage Instrumentation and Controls system design.
minimum of 15 years’ experience or combined experience in one or all of the disciplines listed below, with a balanced mix of in-office and in-field experience.
Facility electrical design - create and review single line diagrams.
Instrument specification and installation.
Controls’ programming, various control systems.
Hands-on plant commissioning - ideally in mining or industrial water treatment Development of EIC standards and procedures.
