On behalf of our public sector client, we are looking for a Project Manager for a 1-year contract, with possible extension. This is a hybrid position, working three days onsite and two days remote, in downtown Toronto.
The selected candidate will support the Modernization program, focusing on application-based projects. The specific project assignment is yet to be determined. The role requires strong project management skills, including scheduling, communication, and problem-solving, with exposure to various technologies such as SAP, Adobe, Manhattan, and Blue Yonder. SAP is the key.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and resource allocation in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional project teams, providing clear direction and motivation.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing issues as they arise.
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficient resource management.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to best practices.
- Act as the primary liaison for stakeholders, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands, including personnel and technology needs.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and objectives while assessing their impact.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports and meeting minutes.
- Serve as a key problem solver, addressing obstacles to keep projects on track.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., project management, business, engineering).
- Proven experience in project management, with a focus on project delivery.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Expertise in risk assessment, mitigation, and financial management.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
