Our established property management client is seeking a Building Operator to join their team in Ottawa. The ideal candidate will have experience with managing the day-to-day operations of the building including general maintenance and maintaining mechanical systems, and foster positive relationships with tenants, contractors and sub-contractors.
This is a full-time, permanent position that offers 3-weeks' vacation and paid benefits.
Responsibilities: - Supervise and monitor scheduled maintenance and related services, including, but not limited to, interior/exterior maintenance and cleaning services, HVAC systems, life safety systems, to ensure the appropriate level of service is provided
- Perform daily inspections of building, cleaning, elevators, chillers, security systems, and other base building components using checklists and logs, and documenting findings to the standards expected
- Notify immediate supervisor of any observed inefficiencies
- Maintain inventories and request materials and supplies for the maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System rules and Health and Safety Policy
- Provide excellent tenant services, emphasizing a co-operative, helpful and non-disruptive approach in all interactions
- Respond to tenant work orders and other tenant inquiries in a timely manner; resolve issues and complaints
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably within commercial property management
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of building systems and equipment
- Strong customer service and resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
