We are assisting our reputable client with the search for a Network & System Engineer.
In this role, you will be responsible for design, deployment, and maintenance of high-availability networks, troubleshooting L2/L3 and SIP protocols, supporting diverse installations, ensuring security, and mentoring teams This role requires strong networking and infrastructure engineering background.
Salary: $105,000 – 125,000 per year
Location: Gatineau, QC (hybrid: 2 days a week on-site)
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing and deployment and maintenance of high-availability network infrastructure
- Configure and troubleshoot L2/L3 networks, SIP protocols, and advanced routing technologies across Cisco, HP/Aruba, and Fortinet hardware.
- Provide expert SIP engineering, including installation, troubleshooting, and SME support for BCFs and SBCs.
- Mentor field technicians, develop procedural documentation, and support geo-diverse installations with failover planning.
- Communicate effectively with customers, technical teams, and executives, adapting to varying levels of technical expertise.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent vendor-specific certifications would be an asset
Cyber security background
- Experience in vulnerability and threat mitigation and management.
- Experience with testing and validation methodology.
- Experience writing technical documentation for peers.
- Strong networking knowledge (OSI layer 2&3)
DB and Automation
- Experience with building, securing and maintaining DB infrastructure (MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with data analysis and reports generation.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, lua, etc.)
- Strong networking knowledge (OSI layer 2&3)
- Experience with containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, docker, ansible, etc.
