We need you to complete our team as part of the Training Support Team at Garrison Petawawa to support CH147F Chinook Aircrew training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acting under the authority of and reporting to the CAE Petawawa Site Manager, the Manager, Training Support is responsible for OTSP CH147F Configuration Management (CM), Courseware Management (development and deployment), Quality Assurance (QA), Verification and Validation (V&V) to ensure contract compliance.
  • Supervise (admin, scheduling, vacation, etc.) Training Support personnel (Courseware Developer, Subject Matter Experts, Training Systems Analyst and administrative members to ensure proper execution of the ISS contract.
  • Lead Training Support personnel and identify/provide professional and personal development opportunities in achievement of broader CAE objectives and vision.
  • Coordinate and schedule Training Support activities to include hardware and software design, modifications, code and test, configuration management functions.
  • Assign tasks to subordinates and review completed technical work for compliance with requirements; ensure necessary documentation associated with training system modification activity is completed and archived.
  • Monitor and provide necessary support to internal (OTSP and CAE Petawawa) and external projects.
  • Provide support to other CAE programs as requested by the Site Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Health and Safety legislation/regulations.
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as engineering, program management, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and produce proposals responsive to customer needs, as well as recognizing unidentified market opportunities.
  • Monitor costs, progress and quality of work and determine solutions to problems encountered.
  • Coordinate development and delivery of the OTSP CH147F In-Service Support Bi-weekly presentation.
  • Ensure contract compliance for all training system operations and maintains good working relationships with all customers.
  • Coordinate with other CAE Petawawa Managers / Group Leaders to ensure adequate resources and personnel are available to meet contract requirements.
  • Submit content for and review reports (monthly, quarterly, etc.) to meet OTSP CH147F contract requirements; and
  • Attend meetings and prepare reports as requested by the Program Manager or Site Manager
  • Perform occasional travel in support of the project. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Graduate of Military Flight Training Program as Pilot, Flight Engineer, or Loadmaster preferably as an instructor on the CH147F Chinook platform.  
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Excellent business, organizational, time management skills.
  • Experience with writing and amending multi-media instructional courseware. 
  • Familiar with quality standards, training plans, and training media used to ensure teaching points are met per Training Standards. 
  • Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or on a valid Work Permit. 
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining both Controlled Goods and a Government of Canada NATO SECRET security clearance. 
  • Physically able to perform all supervisory tasks in a team environment setting. 
  • Formal training in Instructional Techniques. 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience as a Standard Unit or Central Flying School member. 
  • Qualified Tactics or Weapons Instructor
  • Flight or mission simulator experience
  • Military leadership experience
