We are currently seeking a highly skilled and bilingual (French/English) Knowledge Broker/Knowledge Translator for a renowned client in the health sector.

This contract role offers a chance to contribute to a vital project focused on immigrant and refugee mental health.

This a 6-month contract with a strong possibility of extension. Our client follows a hybrid model (downtown Toronto location), however a remote-only accommodation may be permitted for candidates outside the GTA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will play a key role in translating research and evidence into accessible content for knowledge users related to a specific project focused on immigrant and refugee mental health. This includes developing content for online courses, websites, and related resources. The role also involves organizing meetings, tracking expenses, preparing project updates, and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop evidence-informed content for online platforms, including targeted resources and capacity-building materials.
  • Organize and facilitate online meetings, prepare minutes, and track project expenses.
  • Write project updates and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with project teams, staff, and external partners.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Health or Social Sciences, Public Health, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.
  • Full fluency (written and oral) in both French and English.
  • Understanding of knowledge exchange models and strategies.
  • Experience with various knowledge exchange methods (e.g., web tools, communities of practice, social media).
  • Experience working with Francophone agencies and/or communities.
  • Familiarity with immigrant and refugee mental health issues and the Canadian settlement sector is preferred.
  • Experience writing and posting web content and using social media for knowledge translation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload.
  • Proficiency in web-based tools and MS Office software.
  • Experience interviewing subject matter experts and summarizing research.
  • Strong skills in clarifying and adapting existing content for targeted audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent networking, leadership, relationship-building, interpersonal, and listening skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with marginalized communities.
