The Accounting Coordinator, reporting directly to the Controller, will be instrumental in managing all financial operations, including full-cycle accounting, reporting, recordkeeping, and the development of thorough controls to ensure data accuracy and integrity. The ideal candidate is a self-driven and seasoned professional with a strong work ethic, a hands-on approach, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. They must also demonstrate open, effective, and proactive communication skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including preparing related journal entries, account reconciliations, and working papers.
- Manage assigned project accounting tasks, such as invoicing, accounts receivable, payments, and reporting.
- Regularly evaluate the automation of accounting and reporting processes, offering suggestions for improvement.
- Take responsibility for ad-hoc projects and analyses to aid business decision-making and risk mitigation.
Education/Qualifications:
- CPA or in the final stages of designation.
- 3+ years of overall general accounting experience in a private company setting or equivalent experience with a public accounting firm.
- Project accounting experience is an asset.
Skills and Abilities:
- Detail oriented, organized and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical agility.
- Self-motivated, results driven and prefers to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Deltek Vision (portfolio ERP application) is an asset but not required.
