Treasury Board and Finance, Edmonton – Tax and Revenue Administration

Are you interested in working within a client-focused team involved in filing compliance and collection of taxes, levies and orders?
TRA runs on collaborative teamwork and has leaders that care about the success of their staff. In this role, reporting to a supervisor of Filing Compliance and Collections, you will be going beyond the collection of outstanding taxes, levies and Employment Standards orders by educating taxpayers/debtors on their requirements to file, and making arrangements for the filing of tax returns and payments. You will serve Albertans by pursuing overdue taxes and levies as well as returns required under the Alberta Corporate and Commodity Tax Acts and collection of orders under the Employment Standards Code.
Success in this role requires well-developed organization, communication, and negotiation skills that will enable you to correctly document all files and establish acceptable arrangements. You will use your abilities to assess the financial situations of corporations and individuals to help identify sources of funds for the collection of accounts.
You will have the opportunity to provide recommendations or suggestions to improve policy, procedures, process and legislation to streamline the collection and enforcement process.
A positive attitude, adaptability and commitment to working with others are essential in this role. Knowledge of Employment Standards Code and Regulation, Federal and Provincial Corporate and Commodity Tax legislation would be a definite asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
