This role will start at 5 days onsite in North York for the onboarding process, with the ability to go hybrid (3 days onsite) soon after.
As Manager, Property Accounting & Financing, you will report directly to the CFO and lead a team of 8. You’ll oversee all aspects of property and development accounting, financing activities, treasury operations, and financial support for ongoing construction projects. This role plays a strategic part in supporting executive leadership and offers succession potential to the CFO position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for property and land development entities
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Treasury oversight, including rent collection and banking relationships
- Coordination of financing activities for both revenue-generating assets and development initiatives
- Management of realty tax assessments, appeals, and related reporting
- Oversight of internal billing for property and asset management services
- Financial planning and analysis support for new developments and capital projects
- Partnering with senior leadership to support long-term strategic decision-making
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of progressive experience in real estate accounting, preferably in an owner-managed setting
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Proficiency in Yardi Voyager (preferred) and strong Microsoft Excel/Word capabilities
- A steady, solutions-oriented approach with a long-term mindset and mentoring capability
