The firm supports a wide range of complex, multidisciplinary projects and is seeking a skilled Accountant to join their finance team in North York.
Role Summary:
The Accountant will be responsible for supporting full-cycle accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and assisting in financial analysis and budgeting. This individual will work closely with the Controller and project teams, offering financial insight to support operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
Assist with year-end audits and liaise with external auditors
Maintain financial records for multiple ongoing engineering projects
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance
CPA designation or in progress preferred
3+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., MS Dynamics, QuickBooks, Deltek or equivalent)
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
