Supply Chain Project Lead

Schneider Electric

Richmond, British Columbia

Job description

In this role, you'll partner with teams across Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Planning, and Distribution to ensure new products launch successfully and continue to perform smoothly after launch. You'll help design and manage the end-to-end supply chain, from suppliers and factories through distribution centres to customers.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong collaboration, problem-solving, and influence across multiple functions and regions. You'll navigate complex challenges, make decisions with incomplete information, and help balance customer needs with business objectives.

You'll play a key role in how products are sourced, planned, launched, and supported globally while working with teams across the business to ensure products are delivered to customers on time.

What you'll be doing

Lead Supply Chain Readiness for New Products

  • Support new product launches from a supply chain and logistics perspective, including flow design, planning, inventory, and distribution readiness.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product Management, Sales, and Finance to balance customer expectations with operational capabilities.
  • Identify risks early and develop mitigation plans before and after launch.
  • Ensure materials and inventory are available to support successful product introductions.
  • Coordinate product transitions, including ramp-ups, phase-ins, substitutions, and phase-outs.

Design and Improve Supply Chain Flows

  • Define how products move from suppliers through manufacturing and distribution centres to customers.
  • Recommend inventory, transportation, and replenishment strategies that balance service, cost, and inventory objectives.
  • Support supplier selection and sourcing decisions from a supply chain perspective.
  • Coordinate system and master data setup to ensure products are ready to be planned, purchased, and shipped.

Drive Visibility and Business Alignment

  • Participate in the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process.
  • Communicate project status, supply risks, inventory concerns, and launch readiness.
  • Prepare analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to drive alignment and accountability.

Analyze Data and Improve Performance

  • Use planning and business intelligence tools to support decision-making.
  • Analyze forecast, inventory, logistics, and supply chain performance data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service, reduce costs, and simplify processes.
  • Turn data into actionable recommendations that support business goals.

Build Strong Relationships

  • Serve as a key link between Sales, Product Management, Factory Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Inventory Management, and Distribution teams.
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple countries, cultures, and time zones.
  • Influence decisions and build alignment without direct authority.

What you bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience working across Supply Chain, Planning, Logistics, or Operations.
  • A solid understanding of forecasting, inventory, transportation, supply and demand planning, and SIOP.
  • Practical experience using SAP or S/4HANA.
  • The ability to bring structure to complex information and translate data into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Confidence working through ambiguity, adjusting to changing priorities, and influencing decisions without direct authority.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and an interest in collaborating across functions, cultures, and time zones.

You might also have

  • Experience with new product launches, product transitions, or end-to-end supply chain design.
  • Knowledge of Kinaxis or other advanced planning systems.
  • Experience using analytics or business intelligence tools.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, global supply networks, or supply chain cost analysis.
