Reporting to the Regional Growth Leader (RGL), the Business Centre Practice Leader (BCPL) is a frontline business development leader accountable for growing Stantec’s Water practice and market position across Alberta with a focus on the Edmonton Region. As a seller-doer, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with priority municipal, regional, utility, private, and other public-sector clients; identify and capture strategic opportunities; and build a healthy pipeline that supports sustainable revenue and backlog growth. Working collaboratively with Growth, Operations, and Management teams, you will shape and execute geographic growth strategies, connect clients with Stantec’s multidisciplinary expertise, and strengthen our position in the Alberta water market. Primary Focus - Marketing and Business Development Strategy and Performance - Client and account management - Leadership and collaboration across the Alberta Water community of practice - Project delivery leadership and coordination - Lead and develop a collaborative group of business developers Your Key Responsibilities - Drive market growth and strategic pursuits. - Lead the Water market strategy for the Alberta with a focus on the Edmonton Region, translating regional priorities into focused client, account, and pursuit plans. - Develop a healthy sales pipeline and achieve revenue targets - Build strong client relationships and lead key accounts. - Lead significant project pursuits and project delivery in an appropriate technical, project management, review, or advisory role. - Provide contract review and compliance oversight and resource planning on pursuits - Support and help deliver the annual business plan for Water in the region - Support successful project delivery, quality, and risk management. - Lead, mentor, and connect high-performing teams. - Champion collaboration, inclusion, and health and safety. Your Capabilities and Credentials • Strong business development, account management, and sales-strategy skills, with demonstrated success building and maintaining productive client relationships in Alberta’s water market, specifically in the Edmonton Region. • Strong project management and/or technical delivery experience on water, wastewater, conveyance, or related infrastructure projects. • Experience developing proposals in response to requests for proposals, expressions of interest, and statements of qualifications. • Proven ability to lead, motivate, coach, and influence multidisciplinary teams working across offices, geographies, and business lines, fostering cohesive and results-oriented collaboration. • Sound commercial judgment, including experience with project risk, contracts, fees, scope, schedule, and quality. • Ability to organize and prioritize work across multiple deadlines. • A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. • Registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Professional Engineer in Alberta, or another relevant professional designation. • Minimum 15 years of consulting experience in the Water Industry **Primary Location:** Canada | AB | Edmonton **Organization:** BC-1101 Water-CA Alberta **Employee Status:** Regular **Management Level:** Midlevel manager **Business Justification:** Replacement **Travel:** No **Schedule:** Full time **Job Posting:** 02/10/2026 10:10:42 **Req ID:** 1008126
