Economic Strategy and Investment (ESI) Division

The Ministry of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Senior Industry Development Officer!
This position supports the Supply Chain, Logistics, and Construction team and undertakes research, analysis and project coordination activities to inform strategic decision-making by senior leadership and affected stakeholders related to economic policy and strategy development.
Reporting to the Manager, the Senior Industry Development Officer provides strategic analysis, research, and advice to support evidence-based decision-making related to economic policy, industry development, and ministry priorities. The incumbent gathers, evaluates, and synthesizes information from a wide range of sources to identify trends, issues, risks, and opportunities that may impact Alberta's economy and priority sectors.
The role requires strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills to assess complex issues, develop recommendations, and provide timely information to senior leadership and stakeholders. The position is responsible for conducting research, environmental scanning, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and the development, collection, analysis, evaluation, and dissemination of economic, industry, and business climate information. The incumbent supports policy, strategy, and program development by providing objective, substantiated, and reliable analysis on emerging issues and opportunities.
