The Senior Legal Assistant contributes to the efficient operation of the Global Asset Management Legal Department by performing a range of administrative and legal duties.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

Administrative Key Accountabilities:

  • Arrange and track payment of invoices and expenses
  • Arrange for execution of agreements via OneSpan
  • Arrange for payment of independent director fees
  • Arrange for internal meetings for lawyers
  • Arrange for courier and mail packages
  • Track agreements assigned to lawyers
  • Format, revise and blackline documents
  • Assist Corporate Secretary with scheduling corporate meetings
  • Use Diligent (board books software) to post board and committee meeting materials, minutes and written resolutions for signing and send related communication to directors and committee members
  • Assist VP & Associate General Counsel, Global Asset Management as required

 

Legal Key Accountabilities:

  • Create initial working drafts of the annual renewal prospectus
  • Create initial draft of prospectus amendments as per lawyer’s directions
  • Create and prepare product approval form detailing the items to be reviewed and approved by the product approvers
  • Revise and update prospectus, offering memorandums and fund related agreements as per lawyer’s instructions
  • Draft notarial certificates, authorized signing officer list, officer certificate and certified resolutions in relation to account openings, foreign registrations and arrange for lawyers to notarize

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? – We would love to work with you if you have:

  • Completion of a legal assistant or law clerk program is required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Administrative Assistant, or in a similar legal support role within a law firm, corporate legal department, or financial institution.

  • Experience in a law firm or in-house legal department would be considered an asset.
