The Role
Contributes to the overall success of the Global Payment Technology globally by designing, developing, and supporting applications using Shell Scripting, C/C++, Python, java technologies (e.g. SpringBoot, Hibernate, JPA, etc.) to support business requirements for payment processing systems.
What You’ll Do:
Design and implement routing channels, templates, and protocol configuration adapters for SFTP, AS2, and Connect: Direct in the IBM Sterling File Gateway.
Perform Linux server restarts and manage code deployment across multiple environments to ensure smooth operations and updates.
Provide technical leadership by supporting application development, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring internal teams while collaborating with customers to address their requirements.
Analyze client technology solutions to identify opportunities for optimization and process improvement, driving efficiency and value.
Monitor error alerts in the IBM Sterling Integrator production environment, proactively troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolutions with the respective teams.
Develop and maintain business process workflows, creating detailed design specifications and comprehensive documentation to support system functionality and user understanding
Conduct testing of new software releases to ensure successful implementation with no impact to existing code base
Ensures quality of the solutions are robust, scalable and efficient to meet the needs of the business
Ability to learn new technology and being able to do production support during business hours and off hours pager duty at least one week every month
Monitor system performance, troubleshooting and fixing errors
Work in a cross functional Agile team to deliver core business and regulatory solutions
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
