For our general programme we’re looking for ambitious and enthusiastic graduates with a work-hard, play-hard mentality and the drive to succeed, who are keen to join the fast paced world of financial services at our international HQ in Cardiff. You should have a degree in a strong academic subject, which will form the foundation for you to build upon during the graduate programme. We want to see a passion for developing yourself and your skills and to constantly challenge and be challenged. You’ll complete at least three 6-month rotations in areas as diverse as Marketing, People Services (HR), Operations, Claims, Loyalty, New Products, Loans, Risk, Research & Development, etc. Whilst your first placement will be allocated for you, subject to business needs and priorities you’ll be involved in choosing your subsequent placements, giving you the flexibility to shape your experience based on your interests and career aspirations. Throughout the graduate programme, you’ll be given real business projects that will have a measurable impact on our business. You’ll be exposed to a variety of departments, be given real responsibility and will be expected to push yourself further with each placement. You’ll need to deliver value to our business, be confident in making decisions, and always be on the lookout for improvements and innovative solutions. In return, we will invest heavily in you and your personal and professional development. You will gain a nationally recognised professional management qualification through the Admiral Academy and the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). You’ll be supported by our Graduate Programme Manager, as well as your own dedicated business mentor and graduate buddy, for help, advice, and professional guidance throughout the graduate programme. Subject to which area of the business your career takes you to, you may also get the chance to gain additional qualifications, which would be fully sponsored by us. We currently have operations in Spain, Italy, France, the USA, Canada, Turkey, India and Mexico, so there may be opportunities to work alongside your overseas colleagues to share ideas and transfer knowledge. This can include visits abroad, which can vary anywhere from a few days to a few months or even years. By the end of the Admiral Graduate Programme you will be ready to move into a permanent role with us. What we’re looking for • A degree in a strong academic subject • Some previous work experience (paid or unpaid, any industry) • Involvement in extra-curricular activities • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of what makes a business tick • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • The personal drive and enthusiasm that makes you stand out from the crowd Programme Facts and Figures • Start date: February and September 2021 • Starting salary of £21,000, reviewed annually based on your performance • 28 days annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata on starting), plus up to 3 days unpaid leave every year • 39.5 working hours per week (Mon-Fri) (flexi-time) • 18-24-month comprehensive training programme with a 5-week induction period • A permanent position with the company (subject to a 6-month probationary period) About Admiral We’re an innovative, profitable and fast-growing financial services company launched in 1993.
